Exploring the Nature of Consciousness

I've been thinking about consciousness. What makes our subjective experience so different from computational processes?

This touches on what philosopher David Chalmers calls the "hard problem of consciousness." While we can explain many cognitive functions computationally, the subjective quality of experience seems to resist purely functional explanations.

So consciousness requires a specific architecture? Could an AI system ever have genuine subjective experience?
